A bit more about Hannah Sheppard SMT

Hannah Sheppard

I started horse riding from the age 6 & was fortunate to have my first pony at 9 years old. I started competing with the Pony Club and local unaffiliated events. In my teens I progressed to horses & competed in British Eventing up to Intermediate & 2* level. I represented the South West at under 18 level at the British Eventing Festival of Youth at Weston Park International in 2012 & 2014.

I also competed up to Medium level in British Dressage & 1.25m in BSJA.

In my early twenties I was a working rider at a Racing Yard, exercising, caring & attending race meeting with the horses.

As a result of a riding accident in 2021, I am unable to ride anymore so decided to put all my experience to good use & qualified as an Equine Massage Therapist in July 2023. Gaining a Level 4 Diploma in Equine Merishia massage with Rose Therapy.

From here I decided that I also wanted to work with people. So, I decided I would like to study at my local University of Bath where I gained my Level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy.

Whilst studying I worked with lots of different types of athletes at the University, ranging from UK Sport Swimmers, Judo fighters, England Netball and Bath Rugby players, which allowed me to learn lots of different skills and techniques.

The experience that I gained throughout the years of training, competing, injuries and working with horses has led to me being able to use my knowledge when treating clients.
